Previous Work

Before launching Life Styled by Sammy, I wrote pieces for a few other sites. I’ve always loved to write and was excited by any opportunity to stretch my creative muscles. From listicles to interviews to news stories, I love it all! Throughout college and even now, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to several different publications. Her Campus at Emmanuel – Online Magazine

My sophomore year of college, I founded a Her Campus chapter at Emmanuel. Her Campus is the #1 global community for college women, written entirely by the nation’s top college journalists from 380+ campus chapters around the world. I went on to serve as the President and Editor-in-Chief through my senior year, and it was a huge part of my college career. I also loved the company so much that I worked at their Boston HQ for three semesters as a Chapter Management Intern.

Seen/Said/Read – Journalism Class Site

In college, I took a journalism class my junior year as part of my Communications + Media Studies major. Throughout the class, we were required to post our assignments to a self-run WordPress site. I called mine Seen/Said/Read and it’s still live. I learned a lot about how to write as a reporter, which required dropping a little bit of the creative writer in me (my preferred style). It was a fun experience that took me out of my comfort zone, but provided a helpful look at the world of journalism.

Backyard Beauty – Tumblr Blog

Curious to see where I started blogging? Take a trip down memory lane by visiting my tumblr blog – Backyard Beauty! With no set posting schedule and a focus mainly on OOTDs, this blog was what started it all. I have no regrets about what I shared on the site, but am SO much happier with the content I’m producing now. If you’ve been there since the beginning – thanks for sticking with me! Youth Marketing Connection – “Stay Youthful” Blog

I currently work as a Program Manager at Youth Marketing Connection, a marketing agency focused on using guerrilla techniques like brand ambassadors, street teams, and spring break promotions. As a small team, we all contribute to our Millennial + Gen-Z culture blog, “Stay Youthful.” I’ve linked the pieces I’ve written for the site below:

Parsons x Teen Vogue: Fashion Industry Essentials Online Program Journal

When I was completing the Fashion Industry Essentials certificate program, I documented all of my work using a free WordPress site. Here you can explore blog entries from my assignments and a gallery with photo uploads pertaining to the program.
