An Inside Look at the InfluenceHer Essentials Kit: Summer Edition!
Each season for the past year, Her Campus (HC) and the InfluenceHer Collective (IHC) have released an exclusive Essentials Kit for select members, full of fun products to try out and fall in love with. I’ve been lucky enough to receive the Spring 2019 + Fall 2018 Editions already and am super excited to walk you through the Summer 2019 Edition today! IHC partnered with some of their favorite brands to curate this box to take me into “full-on vacation mode.” It features some amazing products from Crayola, Summer’s Eve, Carefree, Kat Von D Beauty, OtterBox, Kensington Books, and the HCXO Shop – and I can’t wait to dive in!
First up, is an OtterBox phone case from their new Symmetry Series. With the tagline “Ultra Slim. Ultra Protective,” I was excited to see a transition from the bulky OtterBox cases I was familiar with. With their slimmest profile in a case to date, the Symmetry Series is sleek and stylish while maintaining OtterBox’s Certified Drop+ Protection. IHC offered everyone who received the box a code for a free case of their choosing. Unfortunately, I still have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and there weren’t any cases in the series for that model. Instead, I selected a Google Pixel 3 case for my boyfriend to try!
Next in the box were new Carefree® Acti-Fresh® Twist Resist™ Liners. During the summer, it’s important to stay fresh and protected while on the go. I love having a good book to read during the summer, whether soaking up the sun on the beach or cozing up before bed. This kit includes three suspense novels from Kensington Books that I’m excited (and a little scared, already) to crack open! My selection featured Paranoid by Lisa Jackson, Where the Missing Go by Emma Rowley, and Pray for the Girl by Joseph Souza. I’ll be sure to let you know how my “summer of suspense” goes once I start reading!
Her Campus has their own product online retail store called the HCXO Shop. In the kit, they provided a super cute Sip, Sip Hooray Tumbler. I’m a sucker for a good travel cup, and look forward to sipping smoothies and cool drinks from this all summer long!
I’m always done from trying new makeup and need beauty products that are going to beat the heat during the summer. That’s why I was so excited to see a couple Kat Von D Beauty products within the box. Kat Von D is known for her high-pigment, longwear products and I’m sure these will be no exception. I can’t wait to try both the Go Big or Go Home Mascara (which boasts extreme volume powered by plant-based fats) and the Ultra Ink Liner (a vegan liquid eyeliner with ultra-black intensity) very soon!
Last, but not least, Crayola is going to help power my creativity this summer by adding two products from their Take Note! line to the box. These all-new Permanent Markers and Dual-Ended Highlighter Pens will make it easy to DIY any project and bring a little color into my summer.
