Boston Date Night Series: Double Date at Muse Paint Bar in Assembly Row
Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day yesterday! In case you haven’t caught on to the “secret” of these date night series posts, we go on the dates a week in advance to give me time to edit the photos, write the entry, and get social media posts scheduled. So instead of featuring our Valentine’s Day date today (that’ll be coming next week), I’m sharing an awesome double date we went on with two of our close friends, Emily and Jordan, last week.
Being theater kids, we’re all super artsy. One of my favorite things to do when I’m feeling that creative itch is go to a paint night! Muse Paintbar is one of the best and they have location all over New England. We headed over to Assembly Row in Sommerville for dinner and to paint “The City of Lights!”
First stop, dinner! Before heading over to Muse, we stopped into the American Fresh Brewhouse for drinks and bites. Darren and Emily went for some drinks on tap, while I ordered fresh apple cider. It was delicious!
For food, we all got apps and small plates to share. Emily went for the Brewhouse Nachos, piled high with cheddar jack, salsa, jalapeños, and lime crema. Jordan got the Creamy Basil Pesto Pasta (not pictured). Darren and I ordered the Hot Brewery Pretzel with yummy beer cheese and Pulled Pork Pizza to share. Everything was delicious and definitely hit the spot before our paint night!
If you’ve never been to a Muse Paintbar before, I highly recommend it. The atmosphere is so fun and the staff is super friendly. There’s no need for experience when it comes to painting because they walk you through it step-by-step. You can also get food at Muse, but we elected to go to a restaurant, as there are so many good options in Assembly Row.
With these classes, everyone’s creation comes out a little different, but each is beautiful in their own way. The painting we chose was especially cool because it was an illuminated canvas, meaning we incorporated LED lights into the canvas after it was done. The image that we were painting was also really beautiful. It was the Paris skyline at sunset, complete with a tiny Eiffel Tower. Check out some process photos below!
Honestly, paint nights are such a fun activity to do with your significant other, friends, or family! The Muse team plays music while you’re painting, so when we weren’t concentrating on our blending, we were singing and dancing around. Huge thanks to Emily and Jordan for joining us on this date night!
