The Perfect, Comfy Dress You NEED This Summer
It’s official… You need this dress. When Aerie released this smocked button down dress earlier this spring I knew it was going to be my go-to outfit leading into the summer. With so many fun prints and colors, there’s a version for everyone, including both me and my mom! I fell in love with the “Navy” star print and bought my mom the “Royal Palm” since green is her favorite color. I personally love twinning with my family and friends, so this photo shoot was so much fun! Check out how this perfect dress wears below…
The tie straps make it easy to adjust the length to your liking. They’re also such a cute detail and enhance the overall look of the dress. The smocked tube bodice is super comfy and stretches with your curves. As you can see, my mom and I have quite different chest sizes, but the fit is perfect for both of us. The best part of this dress? Pockets. Enough said.
The buttons run the length of the dress and allow you to wear the dress as a fun layering piece. You can see in some of the photos on Aerie’s website that it looks super cute unbuttoned over a swim suit. When fully buttoned up, there is a flattering slit at the bottom for a cheeky bit of leg poking through when you walk.
I know not everyone is a fan of midi dresses, but I think it’s such a flattering length. Since the fabric is so light-weight and breezy, it’s great for both sunny days and cooler nights with a sweater layered on top. One recommendation I have when (not if – sorry if that’s pushy…) you buy this dress, size down. I am normally a medium in Aerie clothes, but am wearing a small here. My mom is normally an extra large and is wearing a large. We both love the closer fit!
