A Virtual Tour of My Makeup Vanity

Curious about how I store all of my favorite beauty products + tools? Today, I’m taking you on a virtual tour of my vanity! When I was younger and living at home, the number one thing on my wish list for when I moved into my own place was getting a vanity. I love makeup and wanted to establish a spot that made storing and applying makeup everyday fun! I found this chevron desk on Amazon and everything came together from there. Read on to hear more about my storage tips and how I keep my favorite products close at hand.

Starting in the front drawer of the desk, this is where I keep products I don’t use quite as often. Whether the color wasn’t quite right or the product is meant for a special occasion (hello, purple highlight), the items in this drawer are stored away for when I need them. However, I also keep two items in here that are a necessity in my routine: baby wipes + Q-tips. Everyone makes mistakes when applying makeup and these two items are saviors. I always keep both fully stocked.

The biggest thing on my vanity desk that commands attention is this acrylic organizer. My parents gave this to me for my birthday and it is amazing! This one is most similar to the one I own, but you can find acrylic beauty organizers on Amazon, Wayfair, and many other sites. With four pull-out drawers and a top shelf with a lid, this organizer holds so much. Let’s take a closer look inside…

Each level has a “theme,” if you will. The top is filled with my everyday face products, including blush, powder, concealer, mascara, and eyeliners. You can read about the 5 mascaras I keep on rotation in this blog post. Next up, we have lip products. I have a LOT of lip sticks and glosses. I keep my favorites out in another organizer you’ll see in a minute. In this drawer are the options that I don’t reach for quite as often, but still love to play with, like Almay Goddess Glosses! The second drawer from the top is eyeliners, more mascaras, cream eyeshadows, and false lashes. I just received the Kiss lashes pictured in a box from Influenster and can’t wait to try for a night out. The third drawer is smaller-sized makeup palettes. Let’s chat about some of my favorites!

I am a huge fan of Tarte Cosmetics palettes. The tarlette in bloom and tarlette toasted palettes are two of my favorites! They are so versatile and create a variety of great looks. The dream big palette is the perfect size for traveling. The last two palettes pictured are limited edition and no longer available, but I love them. The first is the amazonian clay color wheel, palette full of their best-selling blushes. The second is the make believe in yourself unicorn palette, and contains super fun, sparkly shades perfect for summer!

Popping back into the acrylic organizer, the bottom drawer holds my larger palettes, along with a collection of mini Benefit bestsellers that I was gifted for Christmas – thanks, Kenzie! One of my absolute favorite palettes of all time is The Jaclyn Hill Morphe Palette. The colors are perfect for any look and the pigment is beautiful. It’s also super affordable for a palette with 35 shades. A must-have!

Moving on to products that sit on my vanity desktop, I have a collection of foundations that I like to switch up depending on the day/occasion. If I’m looking for lighter coverage, I usually go for IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte or a newer addition to my collection, Revlon PhotoReady Candid Foundation. For days where I want a high-coverage look, I reach for Wet N’ Wild Photo Focus Foundation or Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation.

As mentioned above, I keep my most-used lipsticks and glosses on display in another acrylic organizer. When I find a formula I really like, I typically buy it in multiple shades. This is true for:

You’ll see many of them pictured below!

Finally, at the corner of my vanity is where I keep all of my makeup brushes + tools, hair supplies, and a small mirror for some of my jewelry. I’m pretty sure I picked up the spinning brush holder that I have from this collection at Bed Bath & Beyond. The mirror with jewelry trays was a gift from Darren, but I found pretty much the exact one here on Amazon. I keep the majority of my makeup brushes in mason jars I’ve collected. Please excuse my dirty brushes; I need to get around to cleaning them ASAP!

It might be a little cluttered, but my vanity is one of my favorite spaces in my room. I love sitting down everyday and doing my makeup, especially with the natural light pouring in through the windows. How do you store your makeup? I’d love to know, so leave a comment below and we can share ideas!
