A Soft, Romantic Look for Valentine’s Day
If you’re an avid fashion blog reader, I’m sure you’ve been seeing a TON of posts with suggestions on what to wear for Valentine’s Day. From pink and red lace, to sexy cutouts or peekaboo details, and even a sequin or two, everyone has their own approach to dressing for the holiday. Today, I’m sharing what I plan to wear on the day of love!
I wanted to go with something romantic and slightly unexpected for Valentine’s Day this year. When I found this off-the-shoulder ruffle midi dress from Lulus, I immediately knew it was perfect. Normally, I’d be all about baby pink, fuchsia, or classic red for V-Day. But I thought I’d step out of the box (just a little bit) and go with purple! Purple is my favorite color and this gorgeous shade of lavender was too good to resist. For reference, I’m 5’8.5″, a 34B, and of average build, and a medium turned out to be a perfect fit.
To add another unexpected twist to this outfit, I’m opting for knee-high heeled boots rather than pumps to complete the look. Not only to do the boots keep me warm in this winter weather, but they’re so much more comfortable than a stiletto. I also think they make the ensemble more sophisticated and city-appropriate. It’s always important to select your footwear wisely. I wouldn’t want the night to be ruined due to aching feet!
Darren and I are headed to the North End for a romantic dinner at Tresca this Valentine’s Day. We plan to feature it as one of our Boston Date Night Series posts, so stay tuned for a full review next week! In the meantime, you’ll find a few more shots of my outfit below.
